A Can a social network site can be open source?

I have a project isthat a small social network site. You can check it at (which is http://socialof.mehere). I am actively developing this project and I am planning it to be open source. But But I am confused about licenseslicensing it. AtIn the future,if if this project will be bigger,I I am planning this project to make a company out of the project and place advertisements within the interface, so that I can make money off of it. and probably add ads to this network. Then of course, this company will earn money from project.

I research licensesI've researched a few licenses; however, some of them (i.e I'm confused about how they work. The Apache License 2.0) sayslicense states that you can use the software for commercial purposes. How that company will another company lay claims to thisthe project  ? OrWill that company neverever get claims of thisto the project  ?

Question : What is your licenses advice aboutI'm fairly confused as to how this kind of projectworks - could somebody guide me here?

Regards.
