I have ported a CC BY 3.0 website template as a theme on a CMS platform. I've made a few UI/UX improvements over the original template.

Can I use the theme for commercial purposes on the CMS Marketplace?

CC BY 3.0 license states that I can use the work for commercial purposes as long as I give attribution.

From my understanding and based on Best practices for attribution on CC Wiki, I should give attribution for modification and derivative work:

This is a good attribution for material you modified slightly:

"ORIGINAL_WORK" by ORIGINAL_AUTHOR, used under CC BY 3.0 / Desaturated from original

This is a good attribution for material from which you created a derivative work:

This work, "DERIVATIVE_WORK", is a derivative of "ORIGINAL_WORK" by ORIGINAL_AUTHOR, used under CC BY 3.0. "DERIVATIVE_WORK" is licensed under Regular or Extended marketplace license by MY_NAME

Yes you can. Was there anything in particular that made you think you might not be able to? Jun 20 at 1:56
